Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar, founded by Ronnaporn "Neung/Ronny" Kanivichaporn, a multi-award-winning bartender and Bacardi Legacy World Champion 2019, along with Chennarong "Janz" Bhumichitr, Chef Chalee Kader, Chef Randy Noprapa, and Nichapa Mungpien, quickly rose fame and became one of Bangkok's renowned bars after its opening in 2022. The bar's sustainable and tasty cocktails have been the talk of the town, and in the year 2023, the bar received the Best New Opening by London Essence award and was ranked number 22 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2023 list.
The original menu boasts twelve extraordinary cocktails, including the fan-favorites, Cow, Squid and Kaffir Lime. And now, the team has outdone themselves by adding four new cocktails to the already impressive lineup, starting with Cacao. This cocktail is a twist on the classic Americano, made with cacao water, nibs, and butter, then carbonated. It's garnished with a gelatin cherry made from cacao nibs. The beverage features a sweet and sour taste, a velvety texture and effervescence, with a chocolatey scent.
The Gimlet-like cocktail, Mango, is made with ripe, unripe mangos and young mango leaf. If the young leaf is out of season, the team will use cowa leaf, which tastes similar to the young mango leaf. Caramelised onion is the drink's garnish to help clear the palate. Don't mistake this drink for a drink inspired by the famous dessert Mango Sticky Rice because this drink is sour and has different levels of sourness.
A Manhattan-Rob Roy twist, Tamarind, contains ripe, unripe tamarind and tamarind seed and leaf. This cocktail holds so many flavours and mouthfeels. To add some kick to the drink, a tiny vinegar-Tabasco pickled peanut.
Last but not least, in the cocktail section, Duck is a dessert cocktail similar to Eggnog, having ingredients of duck egg, fat and blood, which sounds pretty scary, but it's a well-balanced drink in flavour, texture and aroma. The drink comes with a meringue made with duck egg white topped with three dots of passion fruit gel.
Not only can guests and customers enjoy the new drinks at this Bangkok's renowned bar, but they can also relish the new bar food created by Chef Chalee Kader.
The restaurant serves modern Thai cuisine, featuring the spicy and savoury Laab-Ped Tart. Made with duck, Thai herbs, chillies, and roasted rice, the Laab-Ped filling is complemented by the crunchy tart crust.
Sai-Ua Quesadillas have a Northern Thai kick. The Sai-Ua, a spicy sausage from Northern Thailand, adds a unique blend of flavours and textures to the quesadillas.
Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar's Somtum Gai-Yang is a deconstructed version of the classic dish with delicate yet intact flavours and textures.
