Forget What You Learn at School, Let's Sing A-Z the Rabbit Hole's Way

One of Bangkok and Thailand's oldest speakeasy bars and institutes, Rabbit Hole, launched its new menu. Chomp was invited to try the respectable cocktail bar's new menu, inspired by the alphabetical A-Z.

Rabbit Hole has begun its new chapter under the new management of the current Watermelon Group Beverage Director, who is also one of the most respectable bartenders in Asia and the winner of World Class Bartender Thailand 2012 and Campari Bartender Competition Asia 2018, Palm - Supawit Muttarattna.

Muttarattana worked closely with Rabbit Hole Bar Manager, winner of Bacardi Legacy Thailand 2018 and one of two Barcadi Legacy Southeast Asia's Representatives 2018, Depp - Noppasate Hirunwathit, to create this recently launched menu.

The menu consists of 26 newly crafted concoctions inspired by artistic

representations of all the different letters in the English alphabet. To help the customers have a better picture, Muttarattana and Hirunwathit selected words that serve as the theme for each drink.

Chomp started with B, standing for Beauty. This cocktail is gin-based, mixed with mixed berry collagen powder, pickled rose and Creme de Violette. The drink was floral, sweet and sour with a hint of gin.

M for Matcha is matcha drinkers would adore. The ingredients are matcha, rye whiskey, pedro ximénes sherry, tonka bean, black salt and ten-year Islay whisky. The drink had complex aromas of Islay whisky, tonka bean and matcha. It was quite dry with a slight tannin and a hint of seaweed.

For rum lovers, P for Paradise is a drink that could transport you to a tropical paradise, as its name suggests. The cocktail is a blend of agricole rhum and London dry gin, ripe mangoes and jasmine before being clarified coconut milk. P of Paradies was an explosion of tropical fruit notes but well-round and slightly dry. No sticky sweetness left inside our throat made us feel fine.

At the A-Z menu launch party, Rabbit Hole invited a violinist, Bartosz Dworak, to perform that night alongside DJ Tada. The invited media, guests, and customers were entertained by drinks and performance. Normally, Rabbit Hole is a bar that offers good vibe, but that night was exceptionally vibrant.

There are 23 more tantalising drinks created by the bartenders' techniques, craftsmanship and expertise on the menu. Chomp would love to try them all in one night but rather save some for another time so we have a reason to come back. Rabbit Hole Open: Monday - Sunday, 19:00 - 01:00
