Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 unfolds with a renewed sense of geographic breadth and culinary momentum, its extended 51–100 list mapping a more expansive, more nuanced portrait of dining across the region.

This year, the list stretches across 27 cities—four more than in 2025—marking a notable widening of Asia’s gastronomic lens. Among them, Busan, Chengdu, Kanazawa and Nishikawa make their first-ever appearances, signalling a shift towards quieter, yet increasingly influential, culinary destinations.

Twelve new entries punctuate the ranking, underscoring a dining scene in constant evolution. Seoul emerges as the most represented city, with seven restaurants on the list, including newcomer San at No.54. Busan, meanwhile, makes a confident debut with Fiotto at No.99, hinting at the city’s growing culinary ambition.

Bangkok continues to assert its presence with five restaurants featured, while Singapore and Hong Kong each claim four spots—both cities welcoming notable re-entries that reflect their enduring relevance. Tokyo records three placements, including Sushi Shunji at No.63, as Kanazawa quietly rises with two new entries: Kataori (No.82) and Respiración (No.92). Elsewhere in Japan, Nishikawa enters the conversation through Dewaya at No.93, further illustrating the country’s rich, decentralised dining landscape. In China, Beijing’s Chef 1996 stands as the highest new entry at No.52, while Chengdu joins the list for the first time with Co- at No.69, adding depth to the country’s culinary narrative.

Among the most striking movements, Kuala Lumpur’s Dewakan ascends 22 places to No.62, marking the sharpest climb within the extended ranking and reinforcing Malaysia’s growing influence on the regional stage.

The 2026 list ultimately reads as a study in expansion—of cities, of voices, and of perspectives—capturing a dining culture that continues to evolve far beyond its established capitals.

Set against the anticipation of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026, #50BestTalks returns as a considered forum for dialogue—bringing together leading voices across gastronomy and hospitality for an afternoon of ideas, reflection and exchange.

Taking place on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, on the eve of the awards ceremony, this year’s edition unfolds under the theme Rooted. It explores how place, culture and personal history shape creative expression—revealing the subtle yet enduring ways our environments inform the way we cook, host and create.

An intimate gathering of perspectives, Rooted invites guests to reflect on origin not as a fixed point, but as a continuous influence—one that anchors craft while allowing it to evolve.
