The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), in partnership with the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) and Koelnmesse (KM), announced the launch of the first-ever THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA trade fair. It will take place from 6 to 8 March 20204, at Hall 9-12, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok. The event will showcase products and services for the HoReCa industry, which includes hotel, restaurant, and catering businesses. The organizers aim to attract over 20,000 buyers worldwide and establish Thailand as the hub of the HoReCa Sector in Asia.
Ms Natiya Suchinda, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, said that the demands in the HoReCa industry were increasing. Thailand had the potential and strength to cater to this growing demand. Being a top global tourist destination, Thailand is known for its hospitality and Thai-style service. The country prides itself on high-quality offerings from product and service providers and innovative designers who enhance the uniqueness of HoReCa products and services. The event will feature over 300 companies from 24 countries, including Thailand, in 722 booths. The fair will cover nine HoReCa segments: Bakery & Ice Cream, Cafe & Bar, Cleaning and Laundry, Dining, Furnishing, Kitchen, Services, Tech and Wellness.
Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, expressed his readiness to organize THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA 2024. Over 120 Thai companies are participating in 270 booths, ready to showcase their innovations, creative designs and products developed from local wisdom. They aim to create soft power and international marketing opportunities. The organizers invite professionals, hotel owners, hotel managers, resort owners, restaurant owners, or café owners, regardless of their business size, as well as chefs and caterers, and business people in TCC's networks, including business people from provincial chambers of commerce, foreign chambers of commerce in Thailand, foreign chambers of commerce and trade associations. The event will facilitate business negotiations and trade, create value, and contribute to the overall economic development of the country in the long run.
Mr Phusit Sasitaranondha, Executive Advisor of Koelnmesse Thailand, said that the collaboration aimed to expand the strategic product exhibition business to meet emerging needs, covering the areas of hotels, restaurants, and catering. The event will showcase 212 international companies from 23 countries across the globe, including Europe, America, and Asia, in 452 booths. The selected products and services will focus on innovations that cater to the needs of modern HoReCa businesses. The showcases will present six HoReCa trends, namely Sustainability, Contactless, Digital Guest Experience, Plant-Based Menu, Food Waste Management, and Energy Efficiency Solutions. The organizers also invite over 500 buyers from top companies to meet exhibitors directly at the fair.
The event will also feature exciting highlights such as the ASEAN Barista Team Championship, Thailand Ultimate Housekeeping Challenge, and innovative products showcased at the THAIFEX – HOREC Xperiential Zone. The event will present products that narrate future trends in HoReCa and THAIFEX – HOREC Academy seminars to bring together industry experts to provide knowledge through workshops, cooking demonstrations, and various informative and enjoyable activities throughout the three-day event.
