Andaz One Bangkok: An Art-Led, Parkside Stay in Central Bangkok

At the meeting point of Lumphini Park and One Bangkok, Andaz One Bangkok captures the city in transition—green canopy on one side, LED screens and a rising skyline on the other. PIA’s interiors reframe Wireless Road as a ‘Vertical Neighbourhood’, layering mid-century curves with colour, photography and details drawn from the surrounding streets and sois.

The sense of place begins at the drop-off, where art is treated as part of the arrival rather than an afterthought. Pinaree Sanpitak’s Pocket of Nature draws on the greenery of nearby Lumphini Park, bringing together a transistor radio, archival photographs of Thailand’s first radiotelegraph station, fresh flowers and ornamental plants. Arranged like a private collection on a domestic shelf, each object holds a fragment of local history, memory and personal significance.

Among the most compelling works is Apocrypha Scripta by Pim Sudhikam, comprising 168 porcelain pieces engraved with auspicious messages. Their glaze incorporates soil excavated during the construction of One Bangkok, allowing the material history of the site to become a welcome for arriving guests.

Outside, Origins Unfold by Aor Sutthiprapha brings together more than 15,000 locally produced ceramic pieces in a large-scale installation.

Upstairs, the lobby avoids the formality of a conventional reception hall. A vivid mixed-media tapestry by Thai textile artist Ploenchan Vinyaratn anchors the lobby of Andaz One Bangkok. Titled Blockwilt, the handwoven work brings together upcycled yarn, beads and fabric remnants, translating familiar details from the Wireless Road neighbourhood into an abstract composition.

Loose threads recall the overhead cables lining the street; red circles reference the windows of Siri Apartment; and hexagonal patterns echo the tiled clock tower in Lumphini Park. Conceived as a visual game, the piece invites guests to look closer and uncover fragments of the neighbourhood through their own memories.

The adjoining Andaz Lounge remains accessible around the clock, with refreshments available throughout the day. Around sunset, complimentary drinks and light snacks are arranged at the counter, creating an easy transition from afternoon to evening.

Our 63 sq m King Bed Park View Deluxe is a spacious corner room with a particularly effective layout. Full-height windows open the room towards Lumphini Park, while another perspective captures Bangkok’s illuminated billboards and urban scale. The opposing views—green and digital, quiet and highly animated—become one of the room’s defining features.

Jǐng offers a more structured alternative, serving Cantonese and Sichuan dishes in a contemporary dining room centred around an open kitchen. Its relaxed format suits dinner with friends and family, while private rooms make it equally appropriate for company gatherings or business conversations.

Jing’s menu moves between Cantonese refinement and the bold, aromatic flavours of Sichuan cuisine. Dim sum and crisp-skinned roast pork sit alongside chilli-laced chicken, braised aubergine, wok-seared scallops and prawns finished with garlic and spice, while a comforting fish soup with pickled mustard greens brings a gentler counterpoint. Designed largely for sharing, the menu balances precise technique with generous, familiar flavours.

On the 23rd floor, Piscari brings the mood of the Mediterranean coast to Bangkok through a menu by French chef Marc Vasseur. Seafood-led sharing plates are served alongside selections from the Gourmet Library, framed by an open kitchen, two private dining rooms and wide skyline views. As sunset gives way to evening, the atmosphere becomes livelier, with DJs, an open-air rooftop terrace and a hidden speakeasy offering a more intimate setting behind closed doors.

Andaz One Bangkok does not attempt to remove guests from the city. Instead, it brings Bangkok closer—through its park views, neighbourhood references, Thai art and direct connection to One Bangkok and MRT Lumphini.
