World Gourmet Festival by Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, a celebration of culinary excellence, has been hosted for 24 editions. This gastronomic event has not just grown but flourished, becoming a beacon of culinary delight over the years. At the 24th World Gourmet Festival, the ticket sales and proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for the Welfare of Rajavithi-Girls' Home under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali, showcasing the event's commitment to social responsibility. Sixteen acclaimed chefs worldwide joined this event in the hope of helping people in need and showcasing their expertise to gourmands and gourmets. This year is also the second year that renowned bartenders from around the world joined this event; bartenders from six world-renowned bars joined to showcase their brilliance.
The event started on the 24th of September with a gala dinner featuring an exclusive six-course menu by six chefs: Chef Kazuyuki Tanaka, Chef Louis-Phillipe Vigilant, Chef Matteo Ferrantino, Chef Mark Donald, Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa and Chef Guillaume Lopvet. At Aqua Bar, guest bartender Jon Lee from Penrose Kuala Lumpur, the Best Bar in Kuala Lumpur 2024 by Asia's 50 Best Bars, mesmerised drink connoisseurs with his tantalising four cocktails.
The event continued the following day with an afternoon session led by Chef Guillaume Lopvet at The Lobby Afternoon Tea. This was followed by evening sessions featuring Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa showcasing his culinary expertise at Guilty Bangkok, Chef Mark Donald presenting his creations at Café Wolseley Bangkok, Chef Kazuyuki Tanaka displaying his skills at Shintaro, Chef Matteo Ferrantino offering his culinary delights at Biscotti Bangkok, and Raiza Carrera from Agite Club in Spain presenting her signature creations at Aqua Bar.
On the event's third day, Chef Louis-Philippe Vigilant assumed control of Guilty Bangkok, Chef Viki Geunes took charge of Café Wolseley Bangkok, and Chef Eric Raty helmed Biscotti Bangkok. The guest bartenders, Miguel Gonzalez and Luis Hernandez from Tlecan in Mexico captivated the guests at Aqua Bar with their skillfully crafted and innovative cocktails.
On the fourth day of the event, the spotlight was on Chef Rishi Neleendra at The Spice Market Bangkok, Chef Jimmy Lim at Guilty Bangkok, and Chef Sang Hoon Degeimbre at Shintaro. The renowned chefs, Viki Geunes and Eric Raty, also returned for their second sessions, delighting the audience with their culinary expertise. Meanwhile, attendees at Aqua Bar were treated to a showcase of unique drinks inspired by Nara, courtesy of Michito Kaneko from Lamp Bar.
The day before the event's final day, Chef Wei Loon Tan kicked off the day by showcasing his culinary skills at the Lobby Afternoon Tea. Following that, Chef Stefan Stiller and Chef Thomas Bühner treated guests to delightful dinners at Café Wolseley Bangkok and Biscotti Bangkok, respectively. Additionally, Chef Rishi Naleendra, Chef Jimmy Lim, and Chef Sang Hoon Degeimbre each hosted their second sessions, offering unique and diverse culinary experiences. Furthermore, the team from G.O.D Bar in Bangkok, led by Niks Anuman, took over Aqua Bar, impressing attendees with their expertly crafted cocktail pairings.
The World Gourmet Festival wrapped up with a memorable afternoon session by Chef Wei Loon Tan, as well as evening sessions by Chef Stefan Stiller and Chef Thomas Bühner. Furthermore, the festival featured a bar takeover by the talented team from Nutmeg & Clove in Singapore, led by Colin Chia.
